I was raised in a Christian home with my parents receiving Christ before they were married and they raised me and my siblings in a Christian home. My school that I attended from K5 to graduation was Gospel Light Christian School in Walkertown, NC. After graduation I went to Pensacola Christian College in Pensacola, Florida. I remember one day in church at college I saw a leader in my dorm get baptized after he had recently gotten saved. I asked him if he could explain to me how a leader of a dorm at a Christian college had just recently gotten saved. He explained to me that he had made a profession of faith but never was truly saved, God used this to get me thinking about my own salvation. I made a profession of faith at age 4 and also again at age 12 but deep down I wasn’t sure about my salvation. I began that summer after my first year of college to start reading the bible. I felt the Lord convicting me about my need to be saved but I kept thinking I was okay because of the profession of faith I had made when I was 12 years old. One Sunday night the Lord showed up at West Side Baptist Church, with people testifying and people on one side of the church getting things right with people on the other side of church. God began to work on my heart over the next few weeks.  On August 11, 1992, I was saved at the age of 18 years old and God also called to preach the same night at Faith Baptist Camp in Resaca, GA. The Lord blessed me with a precious young lady to be my wife and we were married for almost 24 years to the day when the Lord saw he needed her more than I did so He took her home on August 1st 2020. I really began searching for God’s will for my life. I remember one Sunday night I was at church waiting for church to start and my daughter Sarah got a call from her twin sister Savannah that she had been in an accident. I rushed to the scene where her car after flipping several times had landed on its side in the middle of the road. I held on to Sarah with wonder after the paramedics told us it was pretty serious and was going to take her to a trauma hospital if I was going to lose her as well. We got to the hospital and realized she was going to be okay but had a long recovery ahead of her. After they released her from the hospital that night we needed a way home because Sarah had taken my mother home because they had told us they was going to keep her overnight for observation. They told us after midnight we could go home, thankfully the x-rays showed she was not as serious as they had previously thought. I needed  a way home so I called a dear friend Pastor Randy Cook. He told me he could bring us home. We were on the way home and God opened our hearts together for the rescue mission. I asked Pastor Cook to help me pray for God’s will to make sure about this ministry. God gave me an answer with the Word of God.
